The school has, for several years, had an association with a small charity called Seeds for Development. Community leaders in the villages in Northern Uganda supported by Seeds for Development told them that their number one priority was the education of their youngest children. From that point on, it has also been the main priority of the charity.
A big challenge facing these communities is school uniform (and clothes in general). In the summer of 2021, the parents of Lanesborough boys (soon to be RGS Prep) kindly donated the Lanesborough uniform. The uniform was destined for villages in Northern Uganda where Seeds for Development do vital work helping rural communities with education, farming and empowerment. The journey from Guildford to Uganda took longer than anticipated due to COVID-19 and customs backlogs, but we are delighted to share this short film which shows just how much the donations have meant to communities in the area. Whilst they are no longer in need of uniform, these communities continue to be in need of our help to further their invaluable work; should you wish to make a donation please click here.
