Ahead of King Charles’ coronation, Friday saw staff and students taking part in an array of exciting coronation-themed events.
Throughout the day boys took part in coronation-inspired lessons and got patriotic temporary tattoos. A huge thank you to to the LPA for putting smiles (and Union Jacks) on so many faces!
At Break time the Houses went head-to-head in royal relay races with Lancaster coming out on top. The boys passed a sceptre between each other before sprinting across the Astro and around a pupil or housemaster sat proudly dressed as a King.
Dressed in red, white and blue, all congregated in the Science Garden for a wonderful whole school assembly. Several of our musical boys played their instruments whilst everyone sang the National Anthem. Head boy, Jake, read a poem about the monarchy whilst a group scattered wildflowers in the recently prepared soil. Wildflowers were sent to schools around the UK to not only help the next generation understand the importance of improving our biodiversity, but also honouring His Majesty The King’s love of nature.
