Junior Mathematics Challenge

At the beginning of May, Year 6 boys had the opportunity to showcase their knowledge and skills in the Junior mathematics challenge – a 60-minute, multiple choice competition which encourages mathematical reasoning, precision of thought, and fluency in using basic mathematics techniques to solve interesting problems.

The results are in and we are delighted to have 75% of the cohort achieve either a Gold, Silver or Bronze certificate. An increase of 7% in boys achieving a certificate from last year – an outstanding achievement! The top 10 achievers that received a Gold certificate have been invited to participate in the Kangaroo Challenge, a follow on round to the intermediate competition.

We also had 15 Year 5 pupils who chose to participate, all receiving superb results: 1 Gold,  6 Silver and 3 Bronze certificates.

Congratulations to all the participants for making great progress in their mathematics skills.
