The Christmas period at RGS Prep has been nothing short of magical, with a wide variety of activities and events bringing joy and excitement.
Boys in Reception had an unexpected surprise when Father Christmas made a secret visit to the library! The boys were thrilled to find him tucked away and even more delighted to discover he knew all their names and praised them for being good this year. Each boy received a gift, and in return, they sang a heartfelt rendition of We Wish You a Merry Christmas. Father Christmas’ visit was brief, as he and his reindeers have plenty of work to do but his stop brought huge smiles to everyone.
The Pre-Prep Nativity, A King Is Born, showcased the talents of our youngest performers. With enthusiastic singing and storytelling, the boys brought to life the miraculous story of Jesus’ birth. The audience met characters such as Caesar and his census-takers, the angels, shepherds and kings, all beautifully played by the boys. Their performance reminded everyone of the magic and meaning of Christmas.
The Christmas Concert was another highlight, with the boys’ musicianship and festive spirit filling the Performance Hall. Their enthusiasm was matched by the stunning Carol Service at Holy Trinity Church, where the boys’ angelic singing created a magical atmosphere, bringing the school community together in celebration.
In addition to these performances, the entrepreneurial spirit was alive and well at RGS Prep. The Business Club members created a fantastic range of Christmas products, selling them to parents, pupils and staff with great success. At the Christmas Fair, boys eagerly shopped for gifts for their loved ones, while Gardening Club added to the festivities where boys made charming festive pots.
On the final day of term, the boys wore Christmas jumpers, had a yummy Christmas lunch and celebrated in their Houses. Activities ranged from relaxing on bean bags with Christmas films to foam archery, card games and much more!
The Christmas celebrations at RGS Prep were a heartwarming blend of creativity, community and festive cheer, leaving everyone ready for the Christmas holidays.
