Sport Achievements

Football

Skiing
The RGS Guildford ski race team were in Edinburgh in the British Schools Race Championships. The team qualified to be one of the Team England Schools at the English Open Competition in Norwich in October.

The competition was fierce, with the Scottish teams having the home advantage on the steep and bumpy hillend slope, featuring a sector called The Wall, which is the steepest black run on any dry slope in the world.

During the training session on Saturday night, Will sadly injured his shoulder and after a few test runs on Sunday morning had to pass his place on to Max who was travelling with the group. On the day, some excellent performances by Max, Charlie L, Charlie C and Jack saw the RGS team placed 8th in the British Open competition – an excellent achievement.

Squash
We took two teams of three students to the annual Surrey Independent Squash Open Tournament at Epsom College on Sunday 26 November. The two teams faced strong opposition. Our first team got into the 3rd/4th playoff against Epsom College and won comfortably to take 3rd place in their division.
