The Class of 1994 OGs gathered at the RGS on Saturday to celebrate their 30-year reunion, marking three decades since their departure from school. The event was a wonderful mix of familiar faces, shared experiences and nostalgic moments, with some members having already attended the Class of ’93 reunion the previous year, while others were returning for the first time since they left the school. This milestone reunion brought people together from all corners of the globe, including OGs who had travelled from as far as the USA, Germany and Jersey. The excitement was palpable as they reconnected and reminisced about their school days, exploring both the new and familiar parts of the schools grounds and buildings.
Dr Cox provided an insightful update on the current state of the RGS, sharing highlights, key milestones and student successes that have shaped the school in recent years. Ms Popa introduced the Class of 1994 to the “Road to 2035” Bursary Campaign, an important initiative designed to ensure the school’s long-term financial accessibility and sustainability. It is these bursaries that ensure we can offer local bright boys the opportunity to attend the RGS, regardless of their financial circumstances. The OGs were engaged and interested in hearing about the future of their school, which had clearly evolved in the years since they were students.
The day was capped off with a delightful curry dinner, which was, as always, wonderfully prepared by the school’s catering team from Holroyd Howe. After the meal, the group carried their festivities over to the local pub, for one last trip down memory lane, wrapping up the reunion with even more laughter and camaraderie – just like the good old times.
