Partnerships

RGS Guildford has forged many strong and long-lasting external relationships with local, national and international organisations in order to engage in meaningful partnership and outreach activities. We are extremely proud of all we have achieved via reciprocal engagements with our partners, yet continue to seek and be open to new sustainable connections for the benefit of all.

Pupils spoke enthusiastically about their involvement in outreach work, such as volunteering in charity shops, as part of the DofE social work programme, giving master classes to children from local primary schools.

Locally

Locally, RGS Guildford provides an exciting programme of enrichment activities with local primary schools, is an associate member of the Guildford Educational Partnership (GEP), and a member of the Guildford 11-19 Partnership.

Nationally, the School contributes to the Schools Together Group and works with other HMC schools and the Independent Schools Council regarding partnership working.

Internationally

Internationally, the RGS has forged strong links over the past decade with schools and communities in Nepal and Cambodia.

Nepal

Through the Nepal Partnership which originated from involvement with the Alexander Ewart Memorial Fund, and recently in partnership with Tormead School, we are committed to supporting two schools in Besisahar in the Lamjung District of Nepal. In addition to fundraising improving facilities, staff exchanges over the past decade have served to improve teaching pedagogy and school management. Recently, the partnership blossomed to include annual pupil expeditions and also enables a few Nepali pupils to visit Guildford.

Cambodia & East Africa

Our expeditions to Cambodia and East Africa support the work of educational charities to promote education in rural areas and enable our students to visit, teach and work in these less developed communities. Though these expedition and partnerships are challenging and ambitious, they are often one of the highlights of students’ memories of their school days: the camaraderie, the personal challenge and the enrichment mean the value of such experiences is an intrinsic part of their development.
