After reading Law at Girton College, Cambridge Sarah Creedy worked as a Commercial Property Solicitor in the City before entering the world of local politics serving as a Councillor in Guildford for twelve years. She first became the Council’s nominated Governor in 2004 and has been Chairman of the Board since 2013. She and her husband moved to Guildford in 1995, both their sons are Old Guildfordians and as an Honorary Alderman, Sarah has leadership roles in a number of voluntary organisations.

Heather is Head of Strategy, Marketing and Development at RSAcademics, a specialist schools consultancy firm. In addition to Heather’s school experience, she has over 15 years of higher education management experience, as a Faculty Manager and then Director of Marketing & Communications at the University of Surrey. Originally graduating with a degree in law and German, Heather went on to study for a Masters in Business Administration, graduating from Henley Management College in 2000.

Karen qualified as a Dentist from Birmingham University and worked in general practice both in the UK and Singapore for 25 years. She moved to Guildford in 2003, where her son attended both RGS Prep and RGS for 15 years. Karen is a volunteer with mentoring programmes for young people, including the Kids Network.

Peta-Anne studied economics and law before commencing her legal career. She practised international employment law for 20 years at a City firm and then a US Law firm in London. Peta-Anne is actively involved in the School community. She is a member of the RGS Parents’ Association and regularly assists with charity events and initiative at the School.

Mrs FE Carter BA, PGCE

Faye Carter studied French and German at the University of Warwick before completing a PGCE and beginning her teaching career at Solihull School. Since 2008 she has taught at Whitgift School, taking on a number of significant pastoral roles in that time and contributing widely to the co-curricular programme. She is currently Director of Middle Years, a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead and the school’s Mental Health Lead, overseeing the counselling service.

Rupert, the Earl of Onslow and High Steward of Guildford, became a governor in December 2012.

Mr SGS Gimson MSc (Def Tech)

Mr SGS Gimson MSc (Def Tech)

Simon Gimson became a Governor in 2016, sits on the Education Committee and, just before Covid, took on the role of Lead Governor for Safeguarding. He served in the Royal Engineers for 20 years and was deployed to Belize, Northern Ireland and Bosnia. In his second career Simon has had a wide range of roles in the rail industry including train operators and the Department for Transport.

Professor M Humphreys MBE, PhD, LLB, PFHEA

Matthew is Vice Principal (Quality and Standards) and Executive Dean of the School of Law and Social Sciences at Royal Holloway, University of London. He has been an academic throughout his career, and is a Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

As a former pupil of both the RGS and RGS Prep, the son of a former teacher, and with a son currently in the school, Tom Lingard has had a strong connection to the RGS his entire life. After leaving the RGS he studied physics at the University of Nottingham, before training and qualifying as a solicitor at a City firm. He is now a partner at Stevens & Bolton LLP, specialising in intellectual property law.

Lorraine Linton was educated at Haberdashers’ Aske’s before training in Medicine at Birmingham University. She was a GP for many years and now works in a medical capacity within the tribunal system. Lorraine undertook a Master’s degree in Medical Law and Ethics at King’s College, London, and has served on a Research Ethics Committee and on GMC Fitness to Practise panels. All her three sons were educated at the RGS and she became a governor in 2010.

Mun-Ling is passionate about education and having served as a governor at a C of E primary school was delighted to join the RGS governing body in 2019. After studying Law at Cambridge, Mun-Ling practised corporate commercial law at a City firm before moving to the not for profit sector where she is now a lawyer at the World Wide Fund for Nature.

Stephen Meredith is a Managing Partner at Alliotts LLP (14 partner, 100 staff practice, with offices in Guildford and London; represented internationally through Alliott Global Alliance). He is also an audit partner, heading up the Not for Profit team with substantial charity and educational client experience including independent schools, academies, colleges and sector representatives (ISC). Steve also has contacts at ISBA and AGBIS and normally attend the AGBIS annual conference. In addition to this, Steve is a charity trustee, parish councillor and former audit committee member of the AQA.

Mr Michael More-Molyneux HM Lord-Lieutenant

Michael More-Molyneux is the current Lord Lieutenant of Surrey, appointed by HM The Queen in July 2015. Michael More-Molyneux has lived in the county all his life. His family have lived at Loseley Park for over five centuries. In 2017 Michael and his wife Sarah moved out of Loseley House. Their son Alexander and his wife Sophia took over the house and the running of the estate in 2017. He has been involved with many organisations and businesses within the county and is actively involved with a considerable number of voluntary organisations and Charities.

Nikki Nelson-Smith holds a BA Joint Hons in Economics and Politics. For the first part of her career Nikki worked as a macroeconomist in the City of London and more recently as a microeconomist and strategy manager in the transport sector. She has been a Trustee of a life skills education charity for school age children and of Citizens Advice Guildford. She was an elected member of Guildford Borough Council for 8 years, and was first introduced to RGS Governing Body when Mayor of Guildford in 2015/16.

Having been a pupil at the RGS and a former School Captain, Calvin Ngwena has a strong connection to the school. After leaving the RGS in 2015, Calvin read Economics and Politics (BA) at Durham University. Calvin joined the Civil Service in 2018 and has worked in several Departments, currently specialising in energy at the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero.

Kristina was a member of the Executive Committee of Coutts, as Head of Strategy, Sustainability and Innovation. A Chartered Management Accountant with over 20 years’ experience of Corporate Finance, Kristina previously read Engineering at the Universities of Nottingham and Cambridge. Kristina is also a Board member of Natwest Services (Switzerland) Ltd, and a Board member of the NorthBank Business Improvement District on behalf of Coutts.

Helen is the Head of School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering at the University of Surrey. She is a Co-Director of the University’s Academic Centre of Excellence in Cyber Security Education that is recognised by NCSC, with responsibility for overseeing cyber security outreach and education across the organisation. She is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Nick had the great good fortune to be educated at the RGS, and then studied at Cambridge (Natural Science), Pittsburgh (History and Philosophy of Science), and City University (Law). He is a barrister and Deputy High Court Judge and Joint Head of Chambers at 4 Pump Court where he practises in commercial law, as advocate and as arbitrator. He is a Bencher of Middle Temple. In 2023 he will be Chair of the Bar of England and Wales.

Robert is Managing Director within the Europe and Asia Client Group of asset manager, Capital Group. Prior to this, he was an equity specialist at Merrill Lynch Wealth Management after completing the graduate scheme at global advertiser, Ogilvy and Mather. Robert read Manufacturing Engineering & Management at Nottingham University, having graduated RGS in 2002.

Mr MJ Windsor

Mike Windsor studied modern languages at Durham University before moving to Italy, where he taught English as a Foreign Language. On his return, he completed a PGCE at the Institute of Education in London and an MA in Modern German Studies at Birkbeck College, London. His teaching career in the UK started at KCS Wimbledon. He then spent five happy years as Deputy Head of the RGS before taking on his first headship at Reading Blue Coat School. He is currently Head of Abingdon School.
